           To whom it concerns,

Hello I'm replying to a post by Scott Bennett in regards to John Tough Finch (bennett).
I have a family manuscript and links of the John Tough Finch (Bennett) family tree.
The Bennett side of things is in the history because John Tough Finch was a convict
from England whom was freed in Australia, and upon his freedom he changed his
name to Bennett.  So the family name is John Tough Finch Bennett

I was wondering who your family was so, I could update the info and add more family
           tree info.

Here are some links that you may find interesting in regard to John Tough Finch Bennett.

I am the great grandson of John Resen Finch.  My Web TV will not permit me to go
too far into what is published about him (on-line).  Would   appreciate  any  information
I can obtain.  John Resen Finch's son,  William Fabius Finch  was my grandfather.

Note:  Al, I tried to respond to your e-mail, but my message was returned as "undeliverable".
The rejection notification from Web TV indicated that your Mailbox is full.  Is there an alternative
(non-Web TV) address I can use?  Or a street address?  I have some family lineage to send you.
           Thanks!

I am looking for William Addison Finch Sr. who married Helena Lewis Guice.

They had a son William Addison Finch Jr. still living.  I do not know if William Addison
Finch Sr. knew that Helena Guice Finch was pregnant.  Helena Guice Finch and William
Addison Finch divorced prior to November 1948 when Helena Guice Finch married
T D Stephens.  William Addison Finch Jr. did not know his real name until he was in his
forties and has been searching for information his father ever since.  William Addison
Finch Sr. was a Seargent in the Army Air Corp. (we believe) and was from Chicago,

I am trying to find info on the parents of John Finch born abt 1829 somewhere in Georgia.
He later married Mary Elisabeth Hood. John Finch died in Arkansas abt 1873. I know all
of his children but not his parents. Family rumor has it that two brothers came from England
around 1800 on a ship call "The Lion" or "The Lyon" and ended up in the Carolinas.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I am stuck!

              Hi Scott,

I have replied to you before but am not really sure if you got the message, so I will
              try again.

Thank you so much for your reply. I too an a direct descendant of JTF.  I was at the

reunion in the 80's ---- long before you were born :)  I have both books on the family.

What I would really like to know though is anything at all on Mary Cheeseman
              (
Cheesman/Churchman).  I have been in contact with Gloria  - one of the ladies who

put the tree and the reunion together and we are both very curious to know what

happened to her. However it is extremely difficult to find much at all on her.

I have had my branch of the tree updated recently.  I am thru JTF and Ann's son Arthur

James. If you have a look at his tree you will see me down the bottom in the centre

I look forward to chatting with you.  - Sally.          [Post a Response to this Message]

Thanks for your response. I have a lot of info on John himself and what happened to
him once he arrived in Australia. I have been in contact with one of the lady's who
researched our family history and she is unable to give me any further info on Mary
Cheesman -- John's first wife. I have searched everywhere and am still unable to come
up with anything. Other than a marriage record it appears she didn't exist.

If you would like ant further info on John I may be able to help you, if you are interested

I am trying to find my ggg grandmother Frances Finch's grave and find out what
happened to her.  I realize that this is not her Finch branch but I thought someone
might tell me where to look for her.  I don't know if she was born in Georgia but that
is where she married my ggg Grandfather Wiley B. Garner in Bibb County on
May 7, 1829.  On the 1850 census Wiley B Garner is remarried to a Sarah E.
I found a W.B. Garner on a 1840 census in Stewart County Georgia.  Frances
seems to be on that census.  I say this because of the age of Sarah who was much
younger abt 25 years than Wiley. I think Frances Finch died in the mid 1840's.

Hi, I am inquiring about an Elisha Finch born in about 1792 in New York .  He may
have been born in Rensselaer County , as he was a long time resident there.
He married a Fanny, who also appears to have been born in New York . They had a
child named Oscar N or M born in New York around 1835. Any information regarding
Elisha’s parents, siblings or possible other children would be greatly appreciated.
It appears that Elisha was deaf. Also, per the 1850 census, his neighbors were
Reuben and Patience Finch and also Edward and Mahala Finch
.

Firstly what a wonderful site this is. Thank you.
I am a descendant of a John Tough Finch DOB 20 Sept 1812. The illegitimate child
of Ann Finch and John Tough. I have allot of information of John himself. In short, he
grew up in Surrey England, married a lady by the name of Mary Cheesman
(Cheeseman) and had a child named Christopher. He joined the army and later
deserted so was sent to Australia as a convict in 1837. He obviously had to leave
his family behind. This is my dilemma, I can not find anything on his family that were
left behind. If anyone can help me in this I would be eternally grateful. Thank you.

Author:

It has been my hope to find descendants of William LaPine / Lepine and Ada Dunham
of New York. Ada was the daughter of my Uncle, Richard Jeremiah Dunham & Nancy
Matilda Brown.  Ada ’s siblings were William C. Dunham, Mary Elizabeth Dunham,
Rebecca Georgianna (who m. Fred McIntyre), Lola (who died young), and her twin sister,
Addie (who married James L. Ingraham.) I’m told that William C. had a twin name Wallace
that died with-in his first year of birth but I do know that Wm. went on to marry and had a
           son named Porter Dunham.

William and Ada LaPine (Lapine) had 5 children that I know of:

1.  Lena b. Sept. 1884 who never married but was the family genealogist. I think she
            remained in Oneonta, Otsego Co.,
NY.

           2.  Nellie M. b. Oct 1885 who married Guy Finch. Their children were Frank L. Finch,
           Lottie A. Finch
, and Bert Finch. Last I know of, their
family lived in Sidney , Delaware
           Co.
, NY. Guy was the son of Fowler & Lattie Finch.

           3.  George M. Lapine born 1887 married Alta M. Southworth. They had at least 2 daughters,
           Madeline & Marie.
I think they lived in Unadilla but later moved to Binghamton, Broome
           Co., NY (?)

           4.  Joseph b. April 1890 married Ethel K. King and they had at least 3 children: Edward H.,
John K., and James H.,.. They
moved to Yuba City, Sutter Co., California and think that Joe
and Ethel remained there. I have no idea what became of their sons.

           5.  Frank W. born July 1891. I think Frank married and lived in Binghamton the majority of
his life.  I do not think he ever
had any children.   [Post a Response to this Message]

I am looking for information on Elizabeth Finch - born 1789 in Orange County NY.
I know that she married a man with a last name of Carpenter. I think his first name may
have been Daniel.  Elizabeth and her husband Mr. Carpenter were in Genesee County,
           NY in 1813.
